FR Piston Pump Manufacturing Improvement: Integration of Grinding into the Machining Process

We continue moving forward in optimizing our manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement.

A new improvement has been implemented in the manufacturing process of FR piston pumps by integrating the grinding operation of the end covers directly into the machining process.

Previously, this operation was performed on a separate surface grinding machine, requiring an additional manufacturing step and extra part handling.

This improvement delivers several key benefits:

• Elimination of a separate operation, simplifying the manufacturing process.
• Reduced part handling, improving operational efficiency.
• Lower Work in Progress (WIP), minimizing material accumulation between operations.
• Optimized material flow to heat treatment, enabling a smoother and more streamlined production process.

This initiative represents another step towards more efficient manufacturing, with better process integration, reduced waste, and improved production flow.
